Commitment
My word is my bond and through conversations you and I can create the future.
I learnt about commitment from my Mum who stuck by a very disabled and eventually disturbed guy, my Father.
By the time I was 14, we had lost the Father and Husband we had known to a debilitating illness which took another seven slow years to actually take his life. Mum never flinched from his care.
To me commitment and persistence are linked and as Calvin Coolidge once wrote ~ Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race" The ups and downs of my business and personal life have confirmed Calvin's wisdom and my Mum's example.
